A Tribute to Langston Hughes

A Tribute to Langston Hughes
Thursday, Mar 7 | 7:00 PM

The Arts Council of Greater New Haven, in collaboration with curator Katro Storm, presents “A Tribute to Langston Hughes,” a dynamic one-man theatrical performance by “Ade” Anthony Thompson and a screening of “Voices and Visions,” the renowned documentary about Langston Hughes. A question and answer period with the audience will take place after the screening.

Admission is $10.

For tickets to the Lyric Hall event email Shola Cole at scole@newhavenarts.org.

In addition to the theatrical performance, the Arts Council of Greater New Haven presents “A Tribute to Langston Hughes” – the art exhibit – at the Sumner McKnight Crosby Jr. Gallery at 70 Audubon St, 2nd Floor. The exhibition is on view from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., Monday through Friday, February 8th to April 5th, 2013. Free and open to the public

These events pay tribute to Langston Hughes; poet, novelist, playwright, and leading voice of the Harlem Renaissance in the 1920s.

As curator Katro Storm describes it, the show will be layered and include collaborations because Hughes liked to work collaboratively.

For more information about the exhibit, visit www.newhavenarts.org or call The Arts Council at (203) 772-2788. For tickets to the Lyric Hall event email Shola Cole at scole@newhavenarts.org.
